USB media prices increase by 50% to 100%+

Over the past few months, it has been difficult to keep up with the price increases of 50%+ for USB flash drives and hard drives.  The reason we are told is due to the global shortage of NAND memory. Having always used branded SANDISK USB sticks for all transfer work, in preference to cheaper unbranded alternatives,  in May I discovered SANDISK had discontinued 16GB production,  making 32GB the smallest available. Since then prices have almost doubled. Some of the prices being offered on various websites defy belief.

Of course the prices and shortage of memory chips, affects almost all modern technology but that doesn’t take away the reality of seeing something that was £7.95 when the daffodils were in bloom, are now costing £13.95.

Rest assured I will continue to use branded media from SANDISK,  LEXAR  etc for all transfers in preference to unbranded media whose reliability is unknown
